The original owners, Warren, and Helen Tate, lived like a king and queen. They each had their own bedroom with a connecting parlor. The Helen Suite encompasses her bedroom, the connecting parlor, and her dressing room converted to an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
The Helen Suite has two original fireplaces that were at one time the heating source for this suite. The fireplaces are lithographed slate and the fireplace in the bedroom is shrouded with a dark oak surround. All the woodwork is hemlock primarily used in the early northeastern states and imported by Tate for his retirement mansion. The ceilings are approximately 12ft with 11ft pocket doors between the bedroom and the parlor.
There is an array of original stained glass and leaded crystal windows that bathe the suite with multicolored rays of sunshine in the mornings. Enjoy the splendor of the Neo-Jacobean architecture blended with more modern bathroom fixtures.
