The original owners, Warren, and Helen Tate, lived like a king and queen.  They each had their own bedroom with a connecting parlor.  The Warren Suite encompasses his bedroom, the connecting butler's room currently used as a parlor, and the original bathroom for the home.

The Warren Suite has an original fireplace that was at one time the heating source for this suite.  The bedroom fireplace is lithographed slate.  All the woodwork is hemlock that was primarily used in the early northeastern states and imported by Tate for his retirement mansion. The ceilings are approximately 12ft tall.  

The butler's room and the original bathroom had potbelly stoves that are no longer part of the rooms.  Both rooms are part of the original part of the home from the early 1840's. The ceilings in this part of the mansion are about 10ft tall, necessitating three steps down into each area.  The bathroom also served as the maid's room.  Shortly after they moved in the city water and sewer lines became available, so the maid shared her bedroom with the bathtub and water closet.  The original clawfoot tub is still used today.
